Amrabat injury confirmed by Ten Hag for United vs. Brighton
Sofyan Amrabat won’t be available for Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion, according to Erik ten Hag.
Amrabat’s loan agreement with United for the entire season was finalized on the final day, but the midfielder was not registered in time to play Arsenal. However, he did report to camp with his Moroccan colleagues for international duty until withdrawing last Thursday due to what head coach Walid Regragui called a “precaution.”
Since then, the 27-year-old has been at Carrington, but he was not visible in the training photos the club posted on Friday. In addition, Ten Hag acknowledged that Amrabat won’t be available but Sergio Reguilon might make his debut against Brighton at Old Trafford.
In order to determine if Evan Ferguson will be ready to play United on Saturday, Brighton boss Robert De Zerbi has acknowledged he is holding off until the very last moment.
The 18-year-old helped the Seagulls defeat Newcastle United 3-1 before the international break by scoring his first hat-trick in English football. Ferguson, however, suffered a setback when he withdrew from the Republic of Ireland team owing to injury.
Ferguson had a bright start to life on the South Coast, and MEN Sport has learned that United are keeping an eye on him. However, it’s possible that the Irishman won’t be able to impress Ten Hag this weekend.
When asked about Ferguson’s condition during the pre-game press conference, De Zerbi responded: “Evan Ferguson returned to training yesterday. We’ll check on him tomorrow morning and this afternoon.
