The midfielder missed Man United’s return to Premier League play on Saturday due to an injury that forced him to withdraw from international duty.
Sofyan Amrabat won’t be available for Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion, according to Erik ten Hag.
Amrabat’s loan agreement with United for the entire season was finalized on the final day, but the midfielder was not registered in time to play Arsenal. However, he did report to camp with his Moroccan colleagues for international duty until withdrawing last Thursday due to what head coach Walid Regragui called a “precaution.”
Since then, the 27-year-old has been at Carrington, but he was not visible in the training photos the club posted on Friday. In addition, Ten Hag acknowledged that Amrabat won’t be available but Sergio Reguilon might make his debut against Brighton at Old Trafford.
When asked if the new recruits would make their debut soon, Ten Hag responded, “I think so, yeah,” to MUTV. We don’t have as many defenders as we’d like, so Regilon can arrive shortly.
Amrabat, who regrettably returned with an injury, won’t be available tomorrow (Saturday), but I believe he will be ready on short notice. And I’m confident that they will bring us all delight.
Amrabat’s injury’s nature and extent are unknown at this time. Players are frequently stated to be out for “a few weeks” by United when announcing any fitness concerns to the media and supporters.
Mason Mount and Raphael Varane would also miss Saturday’s match due to injuries, Ten Hag acknowledged in his pre-game press conference on Friday. However, both Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are anticipated to be healthy.
Young attacker Evan Ferguson, who withdrew from international service due to a knee ailment, won’t be available for Brighton. The 18-year-old has only recently returned to training, and according to Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi, he is unlikely to play at Old Trafford.
