Following Getafe’s transfer from Man United, Mason Greenwood will appear in EA FC 24, but not Ultimate Team.

A statement from EA Sports has been made announcing the loanee’s inclusion in EA FC 24.

Following the forward’s move to Getafe, EA Sports has confirmed that Mason Greenwood will be featured in their upcoming game EA FC 24.

Since Greenwood was dropped from the United team in offline modes on February 1, 2021, he hasn’t appeared in an EA Sports video game. The striker was still included on the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode, though. In FIFA 23, Greenwood did not appear at all.

On September 29, 2023, EA Sports’ brand-new game, EA FC 24, will be made available worldwide following the company’s high-profile split from FIFA. Additionally, EA Sports has confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that Greenwood would appear in EA FC 24, but not in the Ultimate Team mode, ahead of the game’s release.

An EA Sports representative informed the Manchester Evening News that EA SPORTS FC 24 “authentically reflects the active rosters of teams and clubs in the real world of football.

Mason Greenwood will be listed in FC 24 because Getafe CF has added him to their active roster. Greenwood won’t be in Ultimate Team at launch because he wasn’t a member of an active roster at the time of our deadline for final team and player data.

Greenwood’s decision to end his career at United was announced in August following a six-and-a-half month investigation. United had decided that “it would be most appropriate for him” to relaunch his career elsewhere. The Crown Prosecution Service dismissed all charges against the 21-year-old on February 2. He had been accused of attempted rape, using coercive behavior, and assault.

The Manchester Evening News revealed last month that United, who had initially intended to reintegrate the striker back into their first-team lineup, were thinking about doing an about-face on Greenwood’s future. After an outcry on social media, United changed its mind, and on September 1, Greenwood signed with La Liga team Getafe.

Mason Greenwood has officially signed for La Liga team Getafe CF on a season-long loan, subject to international clearance, according to a United statement confirming the transfer.

“The change paves the path for Greenwood to start his career again away from Manchester United. Mason and his family will continue to receive assistance from the club throughout this difficult time.
