What caused Anthony Martial to leave Manchester United’s practice field after five minutes?

Just before nine in the morning, Anthony Martial came at the Man United training facility. He left after five minutes.

Anthony Martial left the Carrington training facility where Manchester United train because he came late.

Martial arrived at Carrington on Thursday morning at 8:56 a.m., according to witnesses, and left at 9 a.m. after learning that training would take place later in the day.

While they were scheduled to arrive on Tuesday at 9am, United players showed up for training on Monday at 12:30pm. Martial made his return at 12:23 p.m. after United players began to arrive at 11:30 a.m.

Martial started the most recent matches against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal, however he was substituted in both after failing to score.

Rasmus Hojlund, a new £72 million striker, is poised to replace the 27-year-old and could make his full United debut on Saturday against Brighton at Old Trafford.

Martial has scored 17 goals for United over the past three years, but he hasn’t played the full 90 minutes in a Premier League game since January 2021’s home loss to Sheffield United.

Martial tore his hamstring against Fulham in the final league game of last season, and United were willing to transfer him in the summer. He missed all of preseason as a result.

The Frenchman’s contract expires next summer, and even though United has the option of extending it by another year, Martial might be let go if his performance doesn’t improve.
