Is he recuperating in the desert, retired, or injured? not any of this. It turns out that the 30-year-old still has a chance to cross paths with some of his former West Ham United colleagues in the future. He is now working out at the Hammers’ practice facility.
“Jesse has trained with us for three weeks and he’s greatly improved from when he first came in,” West Ham manager David Moyes told TalkSPORT. He’s in considerably better shape now than when he initially came in, which is to say, he’s in pretty fantastic form.
“I want to give him every chance to get better on his own before I see how he does. There isn’t really an update at the moment other than to say that he’s back and approaching the levels of fitness you’d think he would be at.
Therefore, it is yet unknown if the Hammers will extend a contract to Lingard, but at least they are making every effort to keep him from retiring at the age of just 30.
