Even though Manchester United has played four games, the Reds’ team will be eager to improve when they return on Saturday.
The start of Manchester United’s season hasn’t been without problems, and an injury crisis now threatens to kill out any early-season momentum.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest have been defeated by United thus far, but neither victory was convincing. Even though both teams lost in their more difficult away tests against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, one performance stood out clearly from the other.
As the international break draws to a close, MEN Sport has evaluated and graded every player who has played for United thus far. The power rankings are listed below.
Harry Maguire (no. 21)
The United center-back is currently in an awkward situation and seems to be out of favor. His substitute performance against Arsenal wasn’t very impressive.
Jonny Evans 20
Evans has made one substitute appearance so far this season. The Northern Irishman is preferred over Maguire because Erik ten Hag at least wants him.
Anthony Martial 19.
returned from injury but hasn’t indicated that he can address United’s No. 9 problems. His playing time at United appears to be increasing
18 Anthony
Pre-international break, played in all four games, but did not provide a threat to the opposing full-backs.
Luke Shaw 17.
Shaw may have received a severe ranking because he missed half of the games due to injury, but United will suffer greatly from his absence. Undoubtedly, he has room to grow upon his comeback later this year.
Mason Mount 16.
Like Shaw, Mount has not had as many opportunities to shine as he would have wanted. Ranks higher than his countryman since he will return sooner
Diogo Dalot 14
has lost his right-back position and is now stepping in on the understaffed opposite side. improved at Arsenal after a lackluster performance against Nottingham Forest.
Facundo Pellistri 13.
Will be aiming for more playing time after the international break, and his cameo role offered some promising signs. Will have to work hard to maintain this position.
Scott McTominay 12.
Another substitute who has displayed some potential. McTominay is thriving for Scotland and intends to carry this success to the club level.
11. Alejandro Garcia
started this season began a little shakily as a starter, but has been a force to be reckoned with since coming off it. Sadly, we were unable to score against the Gunners, but they are encouraging indicators.
Raphael Varane 10.
had a strong start to the season, scoring the game-winning goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but injury has once again derailed his progress. For the benefit of United’s defense, let’s hope he returns right away.
Rasmus Hojlund 9.
His brief appearance in north London gave fans a glimpse of the Danish player’s contributions to the team. He is unable to move up the rankings due to a lack of matches.
Marcus Rashford 8.
He appeared lost when playing as a center forward, but he has found his niche once more on the left wing. Play him there more often, and his ranking should improve.
Bruno Fernandes, 7.
After the first two of games, Fernandes had to cope with a lot of criticism, but he recovered well and took the initiative against Nottingham Forest. This increasing trajectory must be maintained by the captain.
Lisandro Martinez No. 6
Due to the current injuries, Ten Hag will look on Mr. Reliable to lead the defense despite the fact that he has yet to really shine this season. He should be able to play against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Victor Lindelof, no. 5
Although no one expected him to be in this position this season, he has delivered when needed. It will be interesting to see if he can improve on his current performance on matchday.
Christian Eriksen, #4
Eriksen has seized his moment since being trusted by Ten Hag after a lackluster preseason. The Danish player was at his best when he assisted Rashford at the Emirates.
Casemiro 3.
The Brazilian is still a crucial part of the team’s midfield, further demonstrating that Ten Hag made the right choice in signing him. If Casemiro is in top form, today will go well for United.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 2.
Wan-Bissaka has embraced the right-back position and set an example for Sancho. The Englishman has put in strong performances, and after being on the verge of leaving the team, he is now one of the first names listed.
First, Andre Onana
Despite Forest’s error, Onana has significantly improved United’s style of play. The Cameroonian has made several amazing saves, so it’s hard to hold him responsible for the vast majority of goals allowed.
