John Terry defends Mason Mount’s contentious transfer to Manchester United as being on “two sides.”

Mason Mount controversially switched from Chelsea to Manchester United this summer.

Mason Mount’s decision to leave Chelsea and sign with Manchester United has been defended by John Terry.

The lifelong supporter of the Blues quit Stamford Bridge in the summer after a protracted dispute with the organization over his contract. After intense discussion, United swooped in and reached a £55 million agreement.

Chelsea supporters have denigrated Mount for choosing to leave the team following a public disagreement with the organization. Though there are usually two sides to a story, Terry, a club legend, has backed Mount.

Mase is an entirely authentic Chel, Terry said. “Every narrative has two sides, and I am aware of the other side.

“There’s another side to the tale, but I’m not going to air that tonight. When Mason returns to Stamford Bridge with Man Utd, let’s not be too hard on him.

Mount amassed 33 goals and 37 assists in 195 appearances while at Stamford Bridge, helping Chelsea win the Champions League in 2021.

Chelsea is in my blood, Mount declared after hoisting the title. I adore these supporters and this team. Chelsea supporters, though, were incensed when Mount, after joining United, referred to the Old Trafford locker room as “home.”
