Leroy Sane, a former Man City star, admits to playing for Manchester United before their Champions League matchup.

Later this month, Man United will begin their 2023–24 Champions League campaign with their most difficult group stage matchup when they go to the Allianz Arena.

Leroy Sane, a winger for Bayern Munich, will help his team welcome Manchester United to the Allianz Arena for their first Champions League group stage matchup in an effort to renew an old rivalry.

After finishing third in the Premier League the previous season, United found out their group stage opponents last week. The team of Erik ten Hag was placed in pot two and will play Bayern, FC Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.

On Wednesday, September 20, United will fly to Germany to play Bayern. Last season, Thomas Tuchel’s team won the Bundesliga for an unprecedented 11th straight season, although it took until the very last day.

The Reds will face former Tottenham attacker and transfer target Harry Kane as well as Sane, a former foe. The four-year Manchester City player from Germany is eager to take against a former rival.

Sane told the German news site Kicker, “It’s a very beautiful starting fixture. “I’m excited about it, especially because I played for the neighborhood rivals.

“That may be an opportunity to assess where Europe stands right now. The team at Manchester United is incredibly capable. We want to demonstrate that we are focused on winning the group as well as moving forward.

The last time United played Bayern Munich in the Champions League was during a two-leg quarterfinal match in which David Moyes’ team lost 3-1 in Munich and 4-2 overall. Rasmus Hojlund, a recent acquisition, will also face FC Copenhagen in the group stages.
