Facundo Pellistri, a winger for Man United, has been retained past the end of the transfer window and is studying Marcelo Bielsa.
While on international duty, Facundo Pellistri relishes the opportunity to collaborate privately with Marcelo Bielsa, the manager of Uruguay.
Pellistri did not go out on loan from Manchester United this summer, but he may be in line for more opportunities on the right wing with the uncertainty surrounding Jadon Sancho’s and Antony’s futures at Old Trafford.
The fact that the 21-year-old only received one start in the previous campaign suggested that Erik ten Hag didn’t have confidence in him, but he frequently played for Uruguay, and his performances at the 2022 Qatar World Cup left fans eager for more.
Pellistri has acknowledged that he is studying from Bielsa, the current manager of Uruguay and the previous manager of fierce rivals Leeds.
Darwin Nunez, a striker for Liverpool, recently attributed his improved form to the training Bielsa had done with him.
“Whenever it’s time to come, you come with desire and enthusiasm,” he said in an interview with ESPN. Our team is young, the majority of us are familiar with one another, and we will all work together to push for World Cup qualification.
“He [Bielsa] is a coach who truly enjoys speaking with each player individually, and he is extremely clear with what he wants from us. He corrects our errors and broadens our perspective because we frequently overlook the little things.
He clearly demonstrates where I should strike and encourages me to hit behind the defenders’ backs. He also stresses the value of possessing the skills to attack without the ball and the agility to look for the backs of opposing defenders.
During the international break, Uruguay plays Chile and Ecuador, and Pellistri is expected to feature in both contests.
In two appearances this season off the bench for United, he has only played 18 minutes.
