When Erik ten Hag is required to submit his expected 25-man Manchester United Premier League team

Next Monday, Manchester United must turn in their 25-man Premier League roster for the upcoming campaign.

The summer transfer season for Manchester United was frequently difficult and unpleasant, but it was eventually successful because several new players joined.

Erik ten Hag moved swiftly to address the three crucial areas of his team by adding Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund. Altay Bayindir, a backup goalkeeper, and Jonny Evans joined later in the transfer window. On the final day of the window, Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Regulion signed loan agreements.

Even if injuries exposed the defensive depth in the weekend loss to Arsenal, the squad has a more balanced appearance, and the Reds will hope they have the talent and balance to compete on four fronts when the season begins after the break. With the exception of free signings, Ten Hag cannot increase his roster until January and must present his team to the Premier League within the next seven days.

By Wednesday, September 13, all top flight clubs must turn in their 25-man lists. This week, the Champions League roster was announced, and Donny van de Beek—who may soon leave Old Trafford—was notably left out.

United has more flexibility because under-21 players in the Champions League must register, although this is not required in the Premier League. Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho might still participate despite the fact that they are under 21. The age cutoff for the 2023–2024 season applies to all athletes born on or after January 1, 2002.

Currently, clubs are able to name up to 25 players for their Premier League squad, but they are only allowed to include a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players; the remaining players must be homegrown.

A player who has played for a club affiliated with The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period of three full seasons, or 36 months, before turning 21 (or at the end of the season in which he turns 21), regardless of nationality or age, is said to be a homegrown player.

After the flurry of action in the summer transfer market, United, who lost Eric Bailly this week, can complete their squad quota without leaving anyone out. To Turkish club Besiktas, the defender finalized a permanent transfer.

United’s probable 25-man squad (* denotes a homegrown player): Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton*, Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka*, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans*, Harry Maguire*, Luke Shaw*, Tyrell Malacia, Sergio Reguilon, Casemiro, Scott McTominay*, Sofyan Amrabat, Mason Mount*, Donny van de Beek, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Antony, Facundo Pellistri, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho*, Marcus Rashford*.

Young athletes of note who are exempt from registration: Shola Shoretire, Omari Forson, Kobbie Mainoo, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, Hannibal Mejbri, and Rasmus Hojlund
