In hot water is Jadon Sancho! After calling a winger the “scapegoat” on social media, Erik ten Hag seems unfazed by the grounds for removing him.

Despite Jadon Sancho’s “scapegoat” answer, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is apparently sticking by his remarks about the winger.

The Red Devils’ team for a Premier League match against Arsenal did not include the England attacker. Following that absence, Ten Hag explained his decision to ignore the 23-year-old, saying: “Based on his training performance, we didn’t select him.”

Then, Sancho shared his account of what happened on social media, urging people to not accept everything they read. I’ve behaved myself admirably this week during training. I think there are other factors at play, but I won’t go into them because I’ve been used as a scapegoat for too long.

Sancho’s remarks are known to Ten Hag, but according to ESPN, he appears unaffected. The former Borussia Dortmund star has already been cut from the Dutch coach’s plans once; Sancho trained separately from the rest of United’s first-team players during the 2022 World Cup break due to physical and mental health issues.

Ten Hag has demonstrated that he will not tolerate individuals who challenge his authority and breach the rules, thus Sancho may now find himself in hot water at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford was benched for a match against Wolves last season after coming late for a team meeting, and Cristiano Ronaldo was sacked by United after declaring he “didn’t respect” Ten Hag.
