Jonny Evans has been acquired by Manchester United on a long-term contract.

Jonny Evans is back at Manchester United and has committed to a one-year contract to play for them this year.

Jonny Evans signed a one-year contract to remain at Manchester United until his permanent transfer was finalized.

After being released by Leicester City at the end of his contract, the Northern Ireland international joined United in preseason. Evans participated in preseason friendlies for the team and trained at Carrington.

The 35-year-old will be allowed to play for the first team in competitive matches this season thanks to the contract that United have now secured for him. This season, he will be able to add to the 198 first-team appearances he made during his first stint at the club, which resulted in three Premier League crowns and a Champions League victory.

Raphael Varane, who sustained an injury in United’s victory against Nottingham Forest last week and is expected to miss about a month, is absent at the time of Evans’ signing. He is excited to be going back to the team where he first established his name.

Evans added, “I am thrilled to join Manchester United, a club that has always felt like home. “Since I was 15 years old, this club and the supporters have influenced me as a player and as a person, and I’m thrilled to be back where it all started as a member of this fantastic team.

Since the beginning of preseason, I’ve really liked working with the manager and his coaching staff, and I’m looking forward to assisting this group in achieving success together at this magnificent football club.

Evans will be a member of the team for Erik ten Hag, but John Murtough, the director of football, said that Evans has impressed the coaching staff both on and off the field this year

“Jonny is a victor who has played the game to the fullest. These qualities are essential to the culture we are creating here, he continued.

His work ethic and attitude are unmatched, and Erik and the coaching staff are aware that they can count on him at any time this season. We all warmly welcome Jonny back and sincerely hope he can build on the success he has already achieved with the team.
