Southgate provides three justifications for choosing Eddie Nketiah, who receives his first call-up to the England team.

For the forthcoming international break, Eddie Nketiah has been given his first call-up to the England national team.

Eddie is in excellent form at the start of the 2023–24 season with two goals in Arsenal’s first three games and having gained the penalty that Martin Odegaard converted against Crystal Palace.

Also included in Gareth Southgate’s squad are Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka.

On Saturday, September 9, England will travel to Wroclaw, Poland, to take on Ukraine in UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifying Group C.

“It’s an area that we would like to look at him,” Gareth Southgate stated. He is a young player with excellent credentials, a great finisher, and it is advantageous for him to spend some time with us. He has scored the most goals for the U21s.
