once more a unit! Romelu Lukaku departs for Roma, rejoining Jose Mourinho, and Roma announce the striker’s jersey number.

Romelu Lukaku has officially signed a season-long loan agreement with Roma, according to a statement from Chelsea.

On the club’s official website, Chelsea issued a brief statement confirming the deal.

“Romelu Lukaku has finished signing a one-season loan deal with Serie A team A.S. Roma. The international from Belgium spent the previous season on loan at Inter Milan before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2021, according to a release. Lukaku will work with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who led Roma to the Europa League final the previous year, in the Italian capital.

Lukaku will represent Roma at the Stadio Olimpico wearing the No. 90 jersey. The Belgian, who scored 14 goals in 37 games while wearing the same number for Inter in Serie last season, is obviously excited about the idea of playing in the Italian top division once more.

“I’m excited and even more motivated to give my all for my new squad after the warm welcome I received from this club and its supporters. As a rival, I experienced the ambiance of Stadio Olimpico and the friendliness of the Romanisti,” he told Roma’s club media.

“It’s good to know that today, I’m a part of it. I recently had the chance to talk with the proprietors, and I was struck by how ambitious they were. Now we must toil, humble ourselves, and develop game after game. I, for one, am eager to be accessible to my teammates both on and off the field.
